Inspirational Card Sketches #128

I was looking at some more challenge blogs earlier and found one of my old favourites, I love SKETCH challenges.   Add to my joy that ICS is also holding a DT call and I am doubly happy.
I started making this card in browns and it just wasnt singing to me.. i decided it needed colour and got out the compresser and airbrush (hard work..it was only under the desk...i make it sound like it was a real ordeal) and coloured the white cuttlebugged circle with blue, it immediately lifted the card.  Then came the papers and colour choices for the rest of the card.  I seem to be in a bit of a baby card theme of late and yet I know absolutely no one that is due to have a bub!

Ill have to edit the watermark.. I Inadvertently put 127 when the challenge is 128..

My new Bathroom

My husband just completely renovated the bathroom, he had three weeks off and other than a few days off to let concrete dry, waterproofing dry etc, he worked the whole time.. I think he would of worked less if he went to work!
Here are the before and after shots!   I know its not crafting in the paper craft sense but its definitely handywork!

Key to my heart

So yesterday I got my Colouring with Copics book and went through it with my youngest craft addicted daughter and she wanted to make a card following the instructions given, the image was Key to my heart by tiddly inks, after finding it in the Tiddly Basement off we went on creating.   I didnt have a few of the colours the guide recomended but i think my version is pretty good.  The version in the book uses lots of bling in swirls which I didnt have any of, so I used a swirl cut on my gazelle in very old silver card stock and then put glitz on it to bling it up, I quite like the effect and the cost effectiveness of this method.  And I love that my cutter played nice with the swirl.. guess what Im going to be cutting a lot of in the future!  I used Craft Artist to make the sentiment, as I didnt have the stamp, I quite like how well that turned out, I should of make the font a tiny bit smaller so I would fit in the nest I used to cut it down.  The Watermarks are added through Craft Artist too.. in two clicks!  Got to love that.  My next challenge for the day (other than paying the bills, sorting paperwork, continuing on the washing and house cleaning, doing some cooking and maybe brushing my hair...) will be this challenge at Tiddly Inks which is a book mark challenge, some great inspiration over there at the moment.  Thanks for dropping by...

Ellephantastic Challenge - Lots of Layers

Pretty in Pink

Its always a good craft day when your missing in action order turns up.. I got my new copics, magnolia dies, the copic book ive been waiting for and a few other odds and ends, I love the doohickeys, they cut like butter.. I am now going to look for some of the older dies online and try and grab a bargain or two.  I am even thinking of selling off my martha stewart edge punches.. thought processes at work!
I love the copic book that you colour in little squares to show you the colours.. I am yet to colour it in but what a wonderful tool.

Here is my card of the day, I used my Kraftin Kimmie stamp and followed the sketch at the Kimmies challenge blog.  I had to cut down the image a bit as she just overtook the whole card when surrounded by white card stock, I quite like the effect.

Im also entering some other challenges, nice to get back into the swing of the blogging world!

Waiting for an order

Today sees me with some time on my hands, I have taken my girls to school and exercised already and now I have 5 hrs all to myself with some interruptions from the washing machine (blah to housework).

My goal for the day is to learn about using perfect pearls with embossing powder and or pigment ink. I played with this yesterday and failed.

I also have a card to finish that I started at camp and I would like to get another batch of Xmas cards done, makes me laugh as I don't usually even send Xmas cards.

I'm waiting for an order from Simon says stamp, it was sent on the 11th August...and I'm getting impatient...it has the new copic colours in it that I put off buying for ages.

So my challenge for myself is set.....stay tuned!
Now to test out this blogger application for iPad let me add a photo of ,yet to be made card components..

Craft Camp 2011

Another great weekend away at Merroo, Kurrajong this week.  I arrived just after 1pm to help to set up some tables and chairs and to unpack the loads of boxes I decided I just must have at camp.  If anyone has ever been to a craft camp you will know that its a ridiculous amount of stuff that ends up at your table.
Clothes however was another story... my clothing bag was tiny!

I have since come home and decluttered my craft room and I am absolutely horrified in how much craft CRAP..sorry supplies I own.  I am going to sell a heap, including trimmers, acrylic blocks, storage bags etc.. and try and NOT buy anything at all.... honestly... I mean it!

Here is what I made at camp, not much considering I was there for over 48hrs and I only slept for 10hrs of that time!

This card below was another challenge, this time a sketch.  The sketch became the joke of camp with us all being quite particular about following it to a tee.. Even to the point of me having to mount my images on rectangles as thats what the sketch was.   I have since been informed that a square is a rectangle....but a rectangle is not a square.  See Camp can be educational you know!  This card used my wonderful santa images which I think may be High Hopes.. They have a tiny bit of soufle ink on them and white glitter.  Its quite hard colouring a white bearded image, I knew this before and had forgotten.
All the cards below are using Kraftin Kimmies Fairies, I got them from Stampin Stuff Qld (online store) I didnt realise just how promiscuous these girls were until i started colouring them in.  The paper was for a challenge, We had to use it in a card, I wasnt overly adventurous here, some of the other entries were quite brilliant.

The card above was for a card challenge, we were given the butterflys and the only criteria we were given was to use the butterfly on a card.  The butterfly was an odd yellow originally some of us hated the colour and others ran with it, i coloured mine pink but the yellow and pink combined to turn orange.. This then became my colour palette, you can see i picked up the orange in the papers.  I used nestabilities for the cut out and scallope and the swirls were cut on the gazelle.  The pillow box was to use a remnant of the papers and the last butterfly.  You can't see it but there is acetate on the cut out.   I won first place in the competition for this one and won a pigment ink set!  woohoo.  The wording is from a Stamp It set that I hadnt used since I bought it.

The card idea above was completed stolen from the Wonderful Michelle OReiley, she has a box of cards she made last camp and i went through them to find this, I then proceeded to make 6 of them for xmas cards this year, using Sheree's punch, she is  a stampin Up Demonstrator and it took all my might not to buy that punch from her... I did punch out a few extra's incase I wanted to make more.

This card above was my last card prior to leaving camp, i did it in a bit of a rush and the pearls have moved in transit.. I quite like the colours though, very vibrant compared to a normal pastel type baby card.  The doily was cut on my Gazelle and I pinched use of Sheree's congratulations stamp, again Stampin Up.  The image is from Lori's Designs
