Its all about LOVE

The challenge at Card Makin Mama's this week is all about LOVE.  We are happily sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I hope you check back later to see my creation using their generous gift to the Design Team at Card Makin Mama's.

This project was created using my Silhouette Cameo.  I created a 12.5cm square card base (White heavyweight Cardstock) and scored it with a kiss cut line, and then cut a 12cm black card matt and created a 11.5cm pink matt (American Crafts Textured Card Stock) with several hearts cut out to create a background.

I placed some very old designer paper behind the matt and raised the pink section up on pop dots.   I then cut my Teddybo digital image out using the Cameo and the trace function and coloured up with Copics.
All the remants hearts were not wasted, as I placed them inside the card using the pink card matt as a guide for placement.

What will create for our LOVE theme this fortnight?  Please be sure to head over to the challenge blog to read all about the current challenge and to view the other Design Team creations.  If you get time click through the other entries on the challenge and comment on other peoples work, I know it always makes me smile reading comments from others.  You never know what may inspire you.

Cuttingedge SVG Magazine

Oh my, I recently decided that I would try to apply to a new DT. One that was related to cutting machines. Mostly as I wanted some extra inspiration to use these machines, but also to learn from others and hopefully share some information that I have stored away. I am thrilled to tell you that I made the cut (pun intended) and am now part of the Creative Team at Cutting Edge.

Facebook Page will keep you up to date with information while over at the magazine site, you will be inundated with loads of useful information.

Card Makin Mama's Welcomes you to the 2013 Challenge year

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Card Makin Mama's challenges for 2013.

The first challenge is sponsored by Jess, our DT coordinator, superhero, guru and friend. And wait for it, the theme is "Anything Goes".

I coloured up my image weeks ago when I started the Distress colouring with copics course at Scrapbitz. And the card came together last week and Im quite happy with it. Clean and simple is something I love but I am never sure if I pull it off, I think I did with this one though.

Happy New Year - New Creations

As you know, I mentioned I got a Cameo prior to Christmas.  This is a good and a bad thing.  The good thing is, there are SO many files available to download its just amazing.  The bad thing is I can't export these files as SVG to cut them on my cougar if I wanted to.  The Cameo is fantastic dont get me wrong, but the Cougar is faster and when cutting in bulk speed does matter.  (and he is feeling left out not being used)

Anyway, I purchased a Silhouette Subscribtion with my Xmas money and used a 20% discount too.. and proceeded to buy some files.  I found that I was drawn to Lori Whitlock files and eventually realised that she has You tube tutorials for lots of her files (thats good to know, otherwise I would of NEVER EVER EVER figured out the never ending card file I purchased.)   I saw her acordian file album on You tube and purchased it for a massive $1.99 (yes im being sarcasic over the price) and proceeded to make up these albums.   I made two today, they are so simple and come together easily.   My middle Daughter Georgia got the first album and I filled it with photos that have been sitting in my craft room for two years (from her Primary School Formal) and the second album was for my youngest who just had her formal.  I can see myself using this file for family gifts for photos of the year.  They will keep photo's safe and neat and tidy and I can add to the albums through the year or more likely just make them in bulk in December and print out appropriate photos for each recipient.

You may notice this year that my posts are going to be slightly more photo intensive, I got lazy through 2012 using my ipad for imaging and posting and it really limited the quality of photos.
I hope to be posting very regularly through the year, and really using my craft room alot.

Happy New Year Everyone

OH DEAR

I believe I have a cutter addiction.... thats electronic die cutter for those not in the crafting world!

A small beautiful silver and white cutter has crawled ever so swiftly into my craft room and its making itself heard as I type.

I have had a pazzles (may it forever be cared for in its forever home....NOT MINE) and a Gazelle and a Blackcat.   It appears that each of them do something slightly different, more impressive and sometimes each has its own quirks that frustrate the ....$%$^W%$&% out of me!  So why this new cutter.

Well... read up to the top line and youll get it.  No really.   I have spent HOURS and hours trying for the perfect print and cut.  And lusted after the Blackcat PRO, when I dont need one as I have a blackcat.   And my perfect print and cut can now be obtained in a few little clicks and cut on my Cameo.  Yep... I didnt even know I was expecting!

Things I love... the PERFECT easy peasy print and cut and the fact that you can actually cut typing paper, not a huge deal I know but think masking of images and youll get why I like that feature.  The mat is low tack and releases the cardstock and paper really easily.  That said, I doubt the mat will last a long time like pazzle, gazzle and blackcat mats do.  So far what do I hate.  Hmm. The mat intake is a bit finiky, the loud and much much slower than the blackcat and gazelle.  I hadnt realised just how fast the cougar was until right about now as I cut a full page of detailed doilies!

Ill post some photos soon.. (after my little precious finishes cutting this page of designs maybe) but I wanted to take step one and say outloud or in type... I HAVE A CUTTER purchasing addiction!
