Cooking it up with Katie - Purple, Ribbon Sentiment

I am very excited that Katie, from Cooking it up let me back onto her DT after a year off from craft.  I love her recipes and the challenges and she always keeps you thinking.  I am off to a 3 year olds birthday on saturday and she loves chocolate, so this little present is to go with her actual gift.. which I am yet to purchase.   I have already made this 3yr old a card so I wanted to think outside the box so to speak!
Although we are sponsored this week we got to use any image we owned in our personal collections... this was a hard choice as I own quite a few images!  I think this Meljen image suits the box perfectly.

This little box is only 7cm by 5cm by 2cm and I think I got the file from Paperthreads who have many die cutting files for sale.

This week we are sponsored by Gingerloft, please stop by their blog and have a look around.

Dont forget the recipe.  PURPLE, RIBBON and SENTIMENT and head on over to Cooking it up with Katie to link up!

I think it's appropriate to pop this in the Pile it on challenge this week for B is for anything starting with B. So my Birthday Box is off to be linked on this challenge too.

There are Fairy's in the Cooking Pot

This week at Cooking it up with Katie, we are sponsored by Fairy Knoll, as the blog name suggests... there are fairy's all over her blog!
Our Recipe this week is
Blue, bows and buttons

I used a white card front that i had embossed and never used in a project, i cut it down and rounded the corners and then grabbed my nest's and overlaid them a little.  I also tried tip to tip colouring with copics to try and get a new pink colour.  Its not as easy as all the video tutorials make it out to be!

Grab your creativity and head on over to Cooking it up and link up your projects!
Looking forward to seeing what you all create!

Cooking it up with Katie

Cooking it up with Katie this week is sponsored by Meljen Designs and our recipe was fun!
Use a sketch, add some yellow and add some stitching (real or faux)
Sunflower Buggies is the name of my image! cute isnt it.

I kept this project simple, I got my sketch from splitcoast stampers and off I went on with my creation.
Everything except my card base is from the stash, got to love that!

Cooking it up with Katie

This week at Cooking it up with Katie, we were to choose our own images from our stash to play with.  I chose a freebie I had from Meljen, how cute is this guy!  Our recipe for the challenge is:-

Make or Alter an embellishment (hand cut a flower, airbrush a pearl to make it another color, anything like that)

Add some Sparkle

Use a Die Cut

I used my EK punch for the flowers and a huge CARL punch for the leaves.. my goodness its hard to push that punch!  I punched the enjoy (ATC wording stamp Kaszazz) with a stampin up punch and added a brad and ribbon.  My nestabilities are the die cut circles and my sparkle was bling and glossy.  I altered my bling with copics originally but the effect was barely visible so I tried green smooch.. It has yet to dry so I am waiting patiently to see if smooch dries on bling!  My distress inks got a workout on the punched flowers and the edges of the image die cut.

I really like this card, i hope you do to.  I love it when you create something that you like.. would give away and had fun doing!    Looking forward to seeing you all over on the Cooking it UP with Katie challenge this week

Cooking it up with Katie Challenge

So whats cooking this fortnight?  Well the DT all got to use any image from their stash for this challenge.  And we were given the following recipe to play with.

Challenge 17 - 5/12 (chose your own image)

Be charming
Make it Male
Use 3 colors only (not including white to stamp on)

We all would love to see what creations you can come up with
head on over to
and submit your creations!

I am laughing at myself now, as i've seen all the other DT creations and they have used charms... I missed the whole idea!  I thought be charming was for the image used.. and you must admit my bunny is charming!  for this challenge my embellishment of the clock is going to have to be my charm!  I can't believe i was that clueless to the obvious!
Oh dear!

The rest of the DT are also waiting for your visits

Whats Cooking you ask?

Well I do love food... my good friends know this.. But today I'm not talking about food.. Im talking about the wonderful challenge over at Cooking it up with Katie blog this fortnight.

As soon as the challenge was made to the Design Team I knew what I wanted to create.  I had an image in mind of a mothers hand reaching out to a small child, or a mothers hand with a babies hand in her palm.   I spent over an hour looking for an image like this with no luck, so I posed the question on the Aifactory forums about a search engine in finding designs and within an hour, Mia had created an image for my needs!  I was thrilled and very excited at what she created 'for me', I have no idea if she had this image waiting in the wings, or if she whipped it up when i mentioned it!
Here is the image Mia created, its available at the Factory Vault.

I wanted the image to take centre stage and here is what I created.
I wanted the image to show the innocence and love of a mother and child and I really love the final project.
Often I am negative about what I create but I am really happy with this card.

The Recipe for the Cooking it up with Katie Challenge this fortnight is
Something for Mom or for a Special Lady
Punch It Up!
Add a brad

I am currently part of a card swap and the theme is New Beginnings, so my recipient this month gets this card..  I do hope she likes it.

A spoon full of sugar - 3d something (foam squares under image)

Cas-tastic - Anything goes (Clear and Simple)
